Smile wide. Swear on nothing.
A picture-perfect vintage scene, all warm smiles and sunny storybook colour, the kind of page a teacher holds up so the back row can see. Everyone is beaming. Nobody is telling the truth. That is the lesson hiding in the crayon-bright glow.
The Prince of Lies, patron saint of eye contact that never breaks, teaches that honesty is a luxury for people with nothing to lose. A warm lie has closed more deals and saved more marriages than the truth ever had the nerve to attempt. Confession is for the caught. The truth may set you free, but it has never once picked up the bill.
For people who've said "I love it" about a gift they regifted within the hour.
